Li Miao, in the late stage of liver cancer, was driven out of her home by her eldest uncle, but in her moment of despair, she bound with the Haunted House System—returning to her hometown to inherit an abandoned Fengdu haunted house, where the NPCs inside are all real ghosts. To exchange for lifespan and stay alive, Li Miao is forced to manage the haunted house. From subduing the painted-skin ghost whose true nature was exposed, to summoning the mysterious whip-wielding swordsman Ming Ye to hold down the fort, her haunted house becomes increasingly popular. Scaring away bad guys to earn fortune and attracting visitors from all directions to accumulate merit, the ghost employees each show their magical powers, and everyone who experiences it cries out in thrill. Li Miao not only used fortune to heal the ghost sores on her face, but also made the Fengdu haunted house famous far and wide, causing various high-level adepts and capable people to come here in admiration to investigate.
