Zhou Ming is an ordinary high school student with an obsession with food that goes far beyond the norm. Su Nian, the school's belle in his class, always eats the lunch her mother packs for her. One whiff is enough for Zhou Ming to tell that her mother's cooking is exceptional. Every day at noon, he drools over Su Nian's lunchbox, packed with a variety of delicious side dishes. The braised lion's head meatballs especially haunt his dreams. Encouraged by his best friend Zhao Lei, Zhou Ming decides to write Su Nian a note asking for the recipe. Unexpectedly, the homeroom teacher intercepts the note on the spot, assumes it contains obscene material, and insists on publicly humiliating Zhou Ming's father at the parent-teacher meeting. After the note causes a huge misunderstanding at the meeting, fate begins to turn, all thanks to food.
