Spiritual power cultivator Su Wan investigates a mountain anomaly and breaks into a secret realm, accidentally waking up the ten-thousand-year-old slumbering dragon clan member Xuan Chen. The two arrive at Qingxi Village, discovering that the villagers have long hunted and logged, causing the mountain forest's spiritual entities to fall out of balance. Su Wan reasons with the villagers to persuade them to put down their hunting bows, while Xuan Chen channels water into the rivers and imparts fishing and woodcutting skills, finding the path of coexistence between humans and nature. The villagers take an oath to protect the mountain and guard the forest, and all things in the mountain forest return to peace. Su Wan and Xuan Chen travel in each other's company, continuing to guard the mortal world's hearth fires and the spirits in the mountains.
