Jiang Wan lives in a shared house with three other people. Every day after work, she cooks for everyone, while her roommates split the grocery expenses among themselves each month. After a new roommate, Bai Ying, moves in, she claims that her boyfriend can cook for everyone for free, using this as an opportunity to sow suspicion among the roommates and accuse Jiang Wan of pocketing the difference in food expenses. Misunderstood and unfairly accused, Jiang Wan immediately refunds their contributions, stops sharing meals with them, and moves out. Without Jiang Wan taking care of them, the remaining roommates soon encounter one problem after another, from stomach troubles and filthy living conditions to interpersonal conflicts. Only then do they realize how precious the warmth and convenience they once took for granted truly were. Meanwhile, Jiang Wan puts her excellent cooking skills to use by opening a home-style food stall. As her reputation grows, she gradually builds a brighter and more fulfilling new life.

강완은 네 명이 함께 사는 셰어하우스에서 매일 퇴근 후 요리를 만들어 왔다. 룸메이트들은 매달 식비를 나눠 부담했다. 그러던 중 새로운 룸메이트 백영이 이사 오면서 자신의 남자친구가 모두를 위해 무료로 요리해 줄 수 있다고 말한다. 이를 빌미로 룸메이트들을 부추겨 강완이 식비를 부풀려 차액을 챙기고 있다고 의심하게 만든다. 오해와 억울한 비난을 받은 강완은 즉시 식비를 돌려주고 더 이상 함께 식사하지 않기로 한 뒤 셰어하우스를 떠난다. 강완의 보살핌이 사라지자 남은 룸메이트들은 음식으로 인한 복통, 지저분한 집안 환경, 인간관계 갈등 등 여러 문제를 연달아 겪는다. 그제야 그들은 과거에 당연하게 여겼던 따뜻함과 편리함이 얼마나 소중했는지 깨닫는다. 한편 강완은 뛰어난 요리 실력을 살려 가정식 식당을 열고, 점점 입소문을 타며 한 걸음씩 밝고 풍요로운 새 삶을 시작한다.
