The Husband Kidnapped, He Ascended the Throne and Became Emperor
Li Huaihua, a female bandit chief of Black Dragon Stronghold, robs a traveling prince, Xie Yuan, and takes him as her husband. They spend three years together at the stronghold, raising a son and a daughter. When the rebel troops of Prince Chen approach, Xie Yuan seizes the opportunity while she is away robbing an escort caravan and flees overnight with their children. Finding the stronghold empty, Li Huaihua disbands her bandits, disguises herself as a man, assumes the name Li Huaishen, and enlists in the army. After three years of bloody battles on the frontier, her repeated military achievements earn her a promotion to deputy general. When the victorious army returns to the capital and she awaits her imperial reward in the Golden Throne Hall, she looks up to discover that the new emperor is none other than Xie Yuan, the husband who once fled with her children. With old grievances unresolved and undercurrents stirring in the imperial court and harem, Li Huaihua now stands before the throne as a general who protects the nation.
