She pays out of her own pocket to dig a flood-control drainage ditch to solve the mountain village's flooding problems, but her paternal uncle leads the opposition, and villagers superstitiously insist that she fill in the ditch for the sake of feng shui. The next day, torrential rain triggers a landslide and mudslide. With no drainage ditch to divert the water, her uncle's campsite and the villagers' market stalls are completely destroyed. Realizing their mistake, the villagers sincerely apologize to Zhong Mengmeng at her home. Generous and holding no grudges, she organizes the excavation again, reopening the drainage ditch and eliminating the risk of mountain floods once and for all.
