Su Xiaowan, a graduate of an agricultural university, returns to the farm her grandmother left her, burdened with 50,000 yuan in debt. There, she encounters an orange cat that can actually talk. Using her professional expertise, she drives away a swarm of rats and meets a weasel that comes seeking a name. Her uncle covets the farm's land and tries to persuade her to sell it to pay off her debts, but she refuses. He even secretly blocks the irrigation channel to force her to give in. While exploring the mountains, Su Xiaowan discovers matsutake mushrooms and sees a glimmer of hope for making a living. Before long, the farm welcomes a hedgehog and a pregnant stray mother cat, with a whole host of little animals keeping her company. Determined to protect her land, she relies on the gifts of nature to embark on a countryside life filled with extraordinary adventures.
