Su Maisui, a modern agricultural expert, transmigrates into the body of a peasant girl. When her scoundrel fiancé breaks off their engagement, she demands 500 taels as compensation for the exclusive rights to the agricultural techniques she developed. Along the way, she takes in an amnesiac prince as a hired laborer. Using modern agricultural techniques, she improves saline-alkali soil, takes on her treacherous ex-fiancé and a commandery princess, and rises from a ridiculed country bumpkin to the empire's Grand Minister of Agriculture. Together with the Prince of Zhenbei, who eventually regains his identity, she helps usher in an age of agricultural prosperity. She builds a home while cultivating the land, relying on her outstanding skills rather than becoming a concubine in a powerful household, and ultimately becomes the foremost lady in the land.
