Agricultural science master Li Shirong returns to her hometown only to find her adoptive father has died suddenly and the ancestral persimmon grove faces perilous crises. Clan forces covet the forest land, making secret moves whose pollution affects the entire mountain forest. Using her professional skills, she revives diseased trees, follows the faint clues left by the older generation, and clears away layers of mystery. Amidst family entanglements and hidden attacks, she gains the wholehearted help of neighbors and confidants. Not only does she protect the ancient forest, she also establishes a cooperative to lead the entire village in developing the persimmon industry. Having weathered storms and hardships, she ultimately restores justice to past events, bringing the mountains of persimmon trees back to vibrant life, interpreting the rural persistence and era ideals of "persimmons turn red, year after year red".
