After crossing into the Xuantian Continent, Chen Ji finds himself stranded there. Unable to read, he trades three steamed buns for the *Haoran Righteous Qi Technique*. He follows its illustrations but practices it backward, turning righteous qi into demonic qi and drawing the pursuit of the Haoran Sect. While fleeing, he happens upon the reclusive Patriarch Haoran, who gives him a token and a dragon-transformation technique. Chen Ji enters the sect with the token and is revered as its Holy Son. Using a palm technique he devises from the illustrations, he defeats Lin Langtian, the sect’s top sword cultivator, and exposes Luo Qing’s plot. The two join forces for the Cangshan Tournament, face off against gifted rivals, and battle a powerful enemy together in a secret realm. They obtain the heart of the Heaven-Reaching Jianmu tree. In the end, five of them step through a bronze-and-stone gate together and journey beyond the heavens in search of new opportunities.
