Black Gold in the Deep Mountains: 1991 Mountain Foraging Notes
In 1991, heavy rain poured continuously over the Daliang Mountains. Young Lin Zichuan struggled to survive with his critically ill sister. However, village bully Guo Daman led a group to his doorstep, attempting to forcibly seize his family's leased forest on the pretext of unpaid taxes. Driven into a corner, Lin Zichuan risked entering the forbidden mountain to gather medicinal herbs and accidentally saved a one-eared, scabby black pig trapped in a wire snare. He even sacrificed his father's only remaining keepsake to spare the pig's life. Little did he expect that this pig, viewed by others as a bringer of bad luck, would lead him to sky-priced black gold deeply buried underground. The envious village bully pressed on step by step to steal his source of wealth, as a battle between greed and conscience quietly unfolded in the mist-shrouded deep mountains.
