Ruan Shutong, the daughter of a disgraced minister, enters the palace as a servant. One rainy night, she is humiliated by Regent Pei Cheng, and resolutely leaves the palace to open Huichuntang, a medical clinic where she practices medicine. Possessing her family's ancestral acupuncture techniques, she is determined to clear her father's name. The young general Xie Yungui appears gentle and cunning, but has secretly loved her for ten whole years while patiently gathering evidence of the crimes behind the scenes. As Pei Cheng repeatedly frames and pressures her, Xie Yungui overturns the verdict and clears her father's name before the imperial court, openly admitting that he is the one who is unworthy of Ruan Shutong. With the injustice finally redressed, the two put the past behind them and become husband and wife.
