Jiang Yue, the 28-year-old owner of the Wangyuezhai independent bookstore, faces a series of devastating blows: her fiancé vanishes with her money on the eve of their wedding, and her father suddenly dies of a heart attack right in front of the bookstore. This dual trauma traps her in a spiral of pain, causing her to seal herself off and sink into depression. On a rainy night, a belatedly returning Jiang Yue accidentally wanders into a secluded, narrow alley deep in the old street, where she discovers the legendary Sorrow-Forget Soup shop. A bowl of the Soup Granny's sorrow-forget soup can erase a deeply carved, agonizing pain, but the price is that it will also carry away the beautiful memories bound to it—pain and joy can never be severed.
