The Classmate Guarantee Scandal: A Test of Trust Behind Human Relationships
At a class reunion, Wang Wei, the least successful of the group, asks me to guarantee a ten-million-yuan loan. I refuse on the spot. The class monitor leads the accusations, claiming I've forgotten my roots, and the entire class turns against me. That very night, they kick me out of the group chat. A year later, Wang Wei disappears, and the bank comes knocking for repayment. They pressure me to sell my house to cover the debt. I pull out the collection notice, where the guarantor's name is the class monitor's. The very people who kicked me out of the group chat now kneel and beg me to sign. Fortune comes around in turns. Who can escape the heavens' justice?
