I Kindly Helped the Villagers Collect Their Yardlong Beans, but They Accused Me of Profiteering
Shiba Village is enjoying a bumper harvest of yardlong beans. Chen Mo offers to buy them directly from the villagers at a guaranteed price of 2.5 yuan per jin, but the villagers block his vehicle and shower him with insults. Meanwhile, Boss Zhao casually promises them a much higher price of 5 yuan, persuading them to leave their beans on the vines for another three days. However, his standards keep changing, and eventually he stops answering calls and flees in panic. By then, the beans left unpicked are covered in rust spots, and their price plummets from 5 yuan to just 0.05 yuan per jin, leaving the entire village with losses exceeding 800,000 yuan. Only after exhausting all other options do the villagers realize that a contract written in black and white is worth far more than empty promises. A high-price trap and a lesson in honesty: agricultural business has never been something that can be settled with mere words.
