Gu Mingshu, an independent businesswoman, lives alone in a property she owns. She hires Cao Guizhi as a live-in housekeeper to manage her daily life, and the two sign a formal domestic service contract. However, Cao secretly keeps a copy of the mechanical key to the front door. While Gu Mingshu is away at work, Cao forcibly enters the house with her son, Jiang Shihao, and a group of relatives. They set up an engagement banquet without permission, intending to force the two into a relationship and seize her home. Cao even declares that after marriage, half of the property will belong to Jiang Shihao.
