The Bystander of the Last Day
A mortician escaping her past is forced to face the cruel truth of being the sole survivor of an accident three years ago by repeatedly traveling through time to the final day of the deceased. The story takes place in a modern metropolis, with the core scene being a funeral home. The protagonist Lin Xi is a mortician who possesses a secret ability: when preparing the remains of the deceased, she travels as a transparent bystander to the final day of their lives. She cannot be seen or heard, nor can she change anything. As the story unfolds, it reveals that the deceased she experiences are all connected to an overpass ramp collapse accident from three years ago, and her own memories were self-sealed due to the trauma of that accident.
