Five college students are stranded on an uninhabited desert island after an airplane accident. Isolated from the outside world and facing desperate shortages of supplies, they refuse to give in or give up. Drawing on their knowledge and supporting one another, they start from scratch to make stone tools, build a sheltered camp, and search for food and water, working together to overcome wilderness hazards and the many challenges posed by the harsh environment.
