Chen Mo, a former special forces soldier, is stranded on a deserted island after a cruise ship accident. He kindly helps the female passengers build a camp and find supplies, only to be framed and voted out of the all-female camp and banished into the jungle, with even his fire-starting tools confiscated. In the desperate conditions of a torrential storm, he unexpectedly awakens a deserted-island survival system. With his formidable skills, he builds his own wooden cabin, hunts wild game, and produces sea salt, steadily improving his life. Meanwhile, the others in the camp run out of food, turn against one another, accidentally poison themselves by eating the wrong things, and struggle to look after themselves. Finally, with nowhere else to turn, they kneel and beg him to take them in. Chen Mo presents them with a contract: carry water, chop firewood, and undergo a three-month assessment.
