In the first season, Shen Wumian, a Beijing University student whose family has fallen on hard times, agrees to pretend to be lovers with Ke Ran, the Ke family heir who has just returned from abroad, in order to handle a rear-end collision compensation for her younger brother. She thinks this is merely a cooperation, not knowing that Ke Ran has secretly loved her for ten years. During their time together, Ke Ran helps her recover the Shen family jade bracelet and resolves campus misunderstandings, and the two gradually grow closer through testing each other. Later, false rumors cause Shen Wumian's mother's condition to become critical, and Ke Ran invites a medical team to help. At the end of the season, he accompanies Shen Wumian back to school to find out the truth, and the two join hands to face new winds and waves.
