Veteran angler Lu Changming has spent decades fishing with a half-broken old bamboo rod and traditional techniques. He defeats one fishing influencer who cheats with technology after another, as well as professional teams backed by big money. His son, Lu Wei, once fell into debt out of vanity and blindly worshipped foreign equipment. After suffering repeated setbacks, he turns over a new leaf and joins forces with his father to develop the homegrown Breaking Waves fishing rod. Together, they win the national championship and triumph in the campaign to reclaim the lakes, protecting public waters and passing down the craftsman's spirit of patience, integrity, and dedication from one generation to the next.
