In the 1960s, Ma Guoliang returns through rebirth. In his past life, his absurd actions led to the death of his wife and child. After his rebirth, he hurries home to rescue his wife and child, who are mistreated by his stepmother, gets driven out of the family, and goes to depend on his father-in-law. To support his family, he enters the mountain to hunt, becomes a mountain guardian who repeatedly fights fierce beasts and escorts grain transport teams to resolve crises. He protects his wife and father-in-law, striving to carve out a stable and happy life in these hard times.
