With a Signed Document in Hand, I Won't Let My Fellow Workers' Sweat Go to Waste
Foreman Zhou Jianguo and thirty fellow workers give up their Spring Festival reunion to work overtime, completing the construction of a villa complex forty days ahead of schedule. Developer Chen Zhiyuan promises in person to pay the remaining 1.2 million yuan in construction fees on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, but afterward he repeatedly disappears and deliberately withholds payment, even trying to use a new project to string them along. Each worker has their own hardships, and their families are counting on their wages to get by. With no other option, Zhou Jianguo produces the signed change order in which Chen Zhiyuan demanded substandard work on the courtyard wall's foundation to cut costs. Together with a lawyer, he exposes the hidden safety risks to the upscale villa owners. Under collective pressure from the owners, Chen Zhiyuan pays the entire outstanding balance overnight and provides additional compensation. Through his wisdom and unwavering principles, Zhou Jianguo wins back the hard-earned wages of all his brothers.
