Lin Zheng rents his uncle's run-down shop, spending five years building it into the most booming auto repair shop in town. Covetous, his uncle raises the rent threefold, while apprentice Zhou Qingshan turns traitor, poaching clients and selling fake engine oil. In anger, Lin Zheng demolishes the equipment and pours concrete into the foundation, starting up on his own from scratch. With genuine skill, he slaps faces publicly, wins back major clients, and signs a five-year contract. The landlord father and son kneel in debt, but he only grips his wrench tighter: a craftsman's lifeline is nothing other than the skill in his hands.
