Lin Qian quits her job and returns to her hometown, planning to demolish her family's ancestral home and build a factory. However, the entire village joins forces to stop her. She begins to suspect that there are numerous unanswered questions surrounding her father's accidental death many years ago. Following the clues, she uncovers a shocking truth: the village's tap water has been secretly contaminated with poison, and her father was persecuted to death for reporting the water pollution. The village chief repeatedly threatens her, while the villagers isolate her and block her at every turn. With nowhere left to turn, Lin Qian meets Sun Fang, an engineer, and Lin Qiang, a crucial eyewitness. Together, the three secretly gather a complete body of evidence and successfully contact the provincial inspection team and the special investigation task force. Through a joint investigation, a decades-old conspiracy involving poisoning and murder is finally exposed, and everyone involved is brought to justice.
