On a stormy night, a neighbor's wife suddenly goes into labor, and her condition becomes critical. With no taxis available anywhere in the city, Lin Ming acts out of kindness and risks his life by driving through the torrential rain to take her to the maternity hospital, saving both mother and child. But his kindness earns him no gratitude. After being discharged, his neighbors, Chen Jian and his wife, maliciously report Lin Ming for illegal commercial transportation, simply to collect a 2,000-yuan reporting reward to buy formula for their child. Unable to defend himself, Lin Ming is forced to pay a hefty 30,000-yuan fine, and his car is impounded. His goodwill is ruthlessly trampled.
