Sun Yu, an actuary groom, is hosting a 38-table wedding banquet in the countryside. To save money, he dismisses Zhou Jianguo, the experienced master banquet coordinator who knows all the intricate rules of clan etiquette. Instead, he uses Excel spreadsheets to arrange seating according to gift amounts and pinyin alphabetical order, and hires temporary workers paid by the day to serve the dishes.
