Lin Chao predicts that twin typhoons and a red tide are approaching. He urges the villagers to sell their fish stock at a loss and replace their cages with deep-sea titanium alloy ones to avoid disaster, but he is falsely accused of taking kickbacks. The villagers instead buy illegal growth-promoting drugs from unscrupulous businessman Wang Jinbiao. Left with no choice, Lin Chao withdraws from the cooperative and independently builds a deep-sea aquaculture fortress in the dangerous Devil's Throat. The disaster strikes as predicted: the villagers' fish all die, leaving them burdened with enormous breach-of-contract penalties, while Lin Chao's fish remain unharmed. He signs an 80-million-yuan deal with a female fresh-food company president. In the end, Wang Jinbiao is arrested, and Lin Chao establishes a company to consolidate the surrounding fishing grounds, providing a livelihood for the villagers and Uncle Hai.
