Warm Porridge from the Stove Comes Through the Alley
Early one morning in an ancient town, a porridge shop is preparing to open its doors when the owner discovers that a leak overnight has diluted the porridge beyond the point of being sellable. With barely an hour left before the morning market opens, the shop is on the verge of losing its business. Rather than panic, the owner quickly assigns everyone their tasks. Once word spreads, the neighbors eagerly lend a hand. The workshop next door brings thick liquid to help restore the porridge's consistency, the firewood seller at the end of the alley carries over dry wood, the grocery shopkeeper supplies ginger and scallions, and even a kind passerby helps transport supplies. Everyone works together, dividing the tasks and racing against time. Just before the first customers arrive, they finally manage to cook a steaming pot of piping-hot, fragrant porridge.

이른 아침, 오래된 마을의 골목에 있는 한 죽집이 손님을 맞이하기 위해 문을 열 준비를 하고 있었다. 그런데 밤새 물이 새어 들어와 끓여 놓은 죽이 너무 묽어져 도저히 내다 팔 수 없는 상태가 되어 있었다. 아침 시장이 열리기까지 남은 시간은 겨우 한 시진. 장사를 망칠 위기에 놓였지만 주인은 당황하지 않고 재빨리 사람들에게 일을 나누어 맡긴다. 소문을 들은 이웃들도 앞다투어 도움의 손길을 내민다. 옆 작업장에서는 걸쭉한 액체를 가져와 죽에 섞을 수 있도록 돕고, 골목 끝의 장작 장수는 마른 장작을 짊어지고 온다. 잡화점 주인은 생강과 파를 건네고, 지나가던 친절한 행인까지 물건을 나르는 일을 거든다. 모두가 역할을 나누어 맡고 힘을 합쳐 시간을 다투며 움직인다. 마침내 첫 손님이 도착하기 직전, 김이 모락모락 피어나고 향긋한 냄새가 퍼지는 뜨끈한 죽 한 솥을 끓여 낸다.
