Feng Hai, a pipeline repairman of ten years, returned to the old building where he lived in his childhood and unexpectedly discovered that Zhao Meijuan, an auntie on the first floor, had privately dismantled and sold the public gas pipeline of the entire building in exchange for two catties of meat, replacing it with inferior soft hoses and planting a fatal explosion hazard. With kind intentions, Feng Hai warned of the risks in the owners' chat group, but instead faced knife threats, vandalism, and extortion from Zhao Meijuan and her accomplice Wang Gang. Most neighbors in the building chose to coldly look on and even believed rumors to turn things around against him. Seeing through human nature, Feng Hai stopped blindly playing the saint, calmly preserved evidence, and chose to move out to protect himself.
