Lu Jiuwan, a god of war from the apocalyptic era, time-travels and becomes the Princess of Jin, a chess piece planted beside Prince Jin, Di Jiang, by the assassin organization Shadow Gate. Disobeying the original body's assassination mission, she relies on her portable modern dimensional supplies to live freely in the prince's estate, moving from mutual probing to ambiguity with the cold Di Jiang. Visiting her family home, the Censor's Manor, for the lotus-viewing banquet, she tears off the hypocritical masks of the Lu family mother and daughter, and the stories she tells turn into popular scripts sweeping the entire city. Maneuvering between court factions and the assassin organization, she battles the Heart-Devouring Gu in her body while safeguarding herself in the whirlpool of political intrigue, facing the impending overlapping crises together with Di Jiang amid suspicion and a stirring heart.
