This Bowl of Rice of Conscience
On the old street below an office building stand two neighboring fast-food restaurants. Qian Ji is run by its sharp-tongued owner, Qian Qiaoyun, who begrudges even an extra spoonful of braised gravy when serving regular customers. She even publicly mocks Zhou Fang, an office manager who frequently eats there. Furious, Zhou Fang recommends replacing the restaurant as the company's business partner, causing Qian Ji's business to plummet. Desperate to win back customers, Qian Qiaoyun resorts to dishonest tricks, passing off unbranded braising sauce and near-expiration scraps of meat as quality ingredients. She also repeatedly sabotages Cheng Ji, the honest restaurant next door. After longtime neighborhood customers file complaints under their real names, inspectors discover unapproved ingredients hidden in Qian Ji's kitchen. An official closure notice is finally posted on its door.
