Rural mother Lin Sufan goes to the city to vet the marriage for her richest-in-town son, Gu Fan. On the way, she runs into Gu Fan's girlfriend, Su Tang. Because Su Tang drives improperly and scratches her car, she accuses Lin Sufan of being a scammer and, conspiring with her best friend, subjects her to violence. When Lin Sufan arrives at the Gu Group to find her son, she is instead framed as a fraud by Su Tang and beaten multiple times, later being hidden away, while receptionist He Meijuan and security guard Zhao Hu secretly help her but face suppression. Gu Fan perceives the abnormality, and after finding Lin Sufan, learns Su Tang's true face, launching a series of retributions against her, until finally Su Tang and her accomplices pay the price for their actions.
