The story takes place in Nuanxiang, an old urban alley about to be renovated. Su Wan guards the grocery store left behind by her grandmother and welcomes the neighbors in the alley. Lu Yu, an old house renovation designer, comes here to be responsible for the renovation of old houses. The two meet because of the old street renovation. At first, their ideas run counter to each other, but they gradually understand each other through various neighborhood trifles. Together, they handle residents' difficult problems such as keeping items for elderly people living alone, repairing old wooden windows, mediating neighborhood conflicts, and inheriting traditional craftsmanship. Without intense conflicts, it focuses on the daily lives of ordinary people in the old street. Su Wan guards the fireworks of the small shop, Lu Yu searches for the balance point between the old and the new, and everyone explores together the way to preserve the warmth of the old street under urban development.
