In Tangxi City, Shen Qinghe runs a garment mending shop, where she specializes in repairing old clothes. By chance, she discovers clues about a wrongful accusation her mother, Su Sanniang, suffered many years ago. Together with Lu Yun, a painter living under an assumed identity, she sets out to uncover the truth. Along the way, she faces pressure from rival tradespeople, and her shop is destroyed by floodwaters. Undaunted, she gathers old fabrics from all around, bringing everyone together to sew a garment made from hundreds of families' donated cloth. At the clothes-drying gathering, Shen Qinghe uses the garment to recount the stories behind each piece of fabric, publicly exposing an old injustice, clearing her mother's name, and upholding the principles and integrity of those who mend clothes.
