Changsheng, a ten-year-old boy raised in the city, spends his summer vacation in the countryside at his maternal grandmother's house for the first time. Curious, energetic, and always on the move, he keeps everyone on their toes. His grandmother is a stern yet loving old woman who scolds him with her words while constantly piling food onto his plate. Over two months of rural life, Changsheng goes from complaining about the lack of Wi-Fi to being reluctant to leave, and from causing trouble everywhere to learning responsibility. On the day he leaves, his grandmother stands at the village entrance without waving goodbye, yet the entire village puts on a fireworks display for him.
