The eerie descends upon reality, and the global world is forced into a cruel rules-of-weird-tales game. Participants lose their lives at the slightest mistake, and failure triggers the backlash of weird tales onto their home country's territory. Eighteen-year-old Long Country contestant Su Haoyun, as the heir of the Xuanling Sect, refuses to take the beaten path of cowardly survival. Well-versed in fatal rules, armed with a Xuanling wooden blade, he subdues various anomalies as contractual helpers. While others move with extreme caution just to clear stages, Su Haoyun builds an army of anomalies, uncovers sealed pasts, repeatedly secures five-star perfect clearances, and wins national destiny rewards for Long Country. From desolate houses and misty ridge hotels to the dark snow town and other dungeons, he cracks world secrets all the way, shaking the global pattern in the weird-tales game of wits.
