When she was six, Maiqiu Yu was abandoned by her biological parents at the entrance of a snow-covered village. Her maternal uncle, Lu Shoutian, carried her home. Her aunt by marriage, Meng Yunzhi, scrimped and saved to put her through school, while her uncle and cousin supported her every step of the way. Through sheer determination, Maiqiu gained admission to Tsinghua University and Peking University, left the mountains behind, and became an entrepreneur. Years later, when her biological parents came to claim her, she firmly chose the people who had truly raised her. After achieving success, she returned to Yudeng Village with hope, building roads and schools and establishing scholarships so that more children in the mountains could receive an education and pursue their dreams.
