Jiang Manbei is mistreated by his stepmother Liu Guixiang during a family separation, receiving only a muddy pond and sick mussels. Relying on a spiritual spring space awakened by his mother's left-behind pearl embryo, he cultivates top-quality pearls. He starts his business using the pond, repeatedly shattering the schemes of his stepmother and her son involving poisoning and frame-ups, and brings back his abused grandmother. Fighting against corrupt merchants' suppression, he wins first place in the pearl-raising competition and discovers his mother's identity as the successor of Qingzhu Hall. After Liu Guixiang fails to seize the Pond Pearl King and leaves in desolation, Jiang Manbei leads the villagers to prosperity, opens a jewelry shop, and marries Su Mei, achieving perfection in both career and family.
