A knowledgeable woman who has lived through famine transmigrates into the unfinished novel she wrote herself. When she wakes up, the house is bare, her mother-in-law is bedridden, her husband is silent, and the whole village is waiting to laugh at her misfortune. With her own two hands, she makes barren hills cultivable, trades wild vegetables for grain, and even turns an unwanted poisonous coal mine into treasure. She leads her family in making salt and sugar, reclaiming wasteland, and inventing farm tools. As life gradually improves, she uses her own hands to bring real good fortune to her farming family even in years of disaster.
