In 1972, Zhou Rui returned, reborn with memories of his past life. His uncle's family vainly coveted his family's property and employment quota, and even wanted to snatch away his young niece, Xiao Nianniang. Zhou Rui protected his younger brothers and sisters as well as his niece, argued strongly based on reason to draw a clear line against relatives' entanglements, and relied on self-reliance to clear wasteland and go hunting in the mountains, solving survival difficulties through wisdom and skill. He treated his fellow villagers kindly, made good teachers and helpful friends, worked hard to earn money to support his siblings' studies, wholeheartedly protected his small family, and started a new life through steadfast hard work.
