Yan Changsheng, the Sect Master of the All-Evil Sect, emerges from closed-door cultivation, his head crowned with an increasingly dazzling halo of merit. His disciple is puzzled as to how a demonic cultivator could possess such a halo, but Yan Changsheng playfully claims it is an exclusive identifier for demonic cultivators. As they travel down the mountain, ordinary people instead bring them local specialties, which he attributes to everyone's fear. Along the way, they happen upon disciples of the Heavenly Star Sect bullying an elderly person; Yan Changsheng deploys his cultivation technique to resolve the conflict with golden light, sentencing the three to repair roads as penance. Murong Jian of the Heavenly Star Sect leads three thousand disciples to launch a punitive expedition, but Yan Changsheng urges the Human Emperor Banner to summon a host of loyal spirits, routing the incoming enemy, punishing Murong Jian, and pressing the disciples into labor. He further remodels several major sects, transforming them into agriculture, infrastructure, and entertainment.
