Beside the Naihe Bridge in the Netherworld, the lively and somewhat clumsy little white snake Bai Hua grows up alongside Bai Wuwu, Hei Wuwu, and Meng Tiantian, living a peaceful life. After a chance encounter with the aloof, taciturn Xie Wuyou, she follows him everywhere and gradually grows deeply attached to him. Xie Wuyou complains that Bai Hua is always causing trouble, yet he looks after her at every turn. He takes her out of the Netherworld, teaches her to read and write, and shows her magnificent mountains, rivers, and snowy landscapes, introducing her to the many facets of the human world. During their long companionship, they share countless warm and tender moments. One day, while they are out traveling, Bai Hua falls into the water. After Xie Wuyou carefully nurses her back to health, she unexpectedly transforms into human form despite never having cultivated before.
