Obsessions of Mountains and Rivers
Amid the turmoil of a chaotic age, the land lies shattered. After Shen Juan awakens, he discovers that he can see spirits trapped by their lingering obsessions. Accompanied by a black dog with the gift of communicating with spirits, he embarks on a long journey to help these souls find peace. An old spinning woman waits for her wandering son to return; a woodcutter guarding an ancestral shrine is consumed by guilt; and a poor soul desperately awaits the return of loved ones. Behind every spirit lies a farewell in troubled times that never found a proper ending. He does not slay demons or exorcise evil. Instead, he quietly listens to their regrets and helps their lingering obsessions dissolve in peace. In helping others cross over, he also helps himself. As countless souls who never returned finally find their resting place, Shen Juan's sealed memories gradually awaken. It turns out that letting go is another kind of journey home. Obsessions sweep across the mountains and rivers, but in the end, someone will always come to guide the way.
