Lin Guoqiang, a retired renovation worker, spends his entire life's savings personally renovating a new home for his son, Lin Hao, hoping to have somewhere to settle down in his old age. But after he simply uses the toilet once, his daughter-in-law demands that he compensate her for an expensive toilet, while his son and his mother-in-law blindly take her side. After all his heartfelt efforts are met with such treatment, Lin Guoqiang becomes utterly disillusioned. He calls in the renovation crew and decides to dismantle and take away all the renovations, furniture, and appliances he paid for, reclaiming everything that belongs to him.
