Shen Yuru, the chief alchemist of the Qingyun Sect's Alchemy Hall, is framed by Su Wanqing, the deputy chief, who conspires with Zhao Mingyuan to switch the Qingyuan Pills she has refined with counterfeit ones. Using a crucial pill preserved in a hidden compartment of the alchemy furnace, they clear Shen Yuru's name. The two conspirators are exposed and punished.
