Jiang Xining, an outer-sect female cultivator, accidentally cuts her fingertip on rough practice paper and unexpectedly forms a pain-resonance pact with Pei Zhihan, the supreme sword master of the Three Realms. The two share all pain, sensations of heat and cold, and emotions. To avoid suffering backlash, Pei Zhihan forcibly takes Jiang Xining back to the Wuji Sword Manor, where he confines her while caring for her. Accustomed to applying tactical thinking to everyday life, the aloof sword master causes a series of absurd mishaps, from blowing up the kitchen and forcing a spirit creature to start a fire to tailoring formal robes with sword energy. Wary of their unusual pact, the Immortal Alliance sets up an isolation formation to sever their resonance. Pei Zhihan boldly protects Jiang Xining, going so far as to tear apart an ancient formation's core with his bare hands and defy the Alliance's top leaders. Through one crisis after another, the two gradually fall in love and ultimately find their happy ending together.
