Zhang Cheng, a supermarket operations director in Shanghai, is laid off by his company and reborn in 2018. He binds himself to the "Whole City Crowdfunding to Build the Hometown System," which grants him one yuan in development funds from each of the county's 500,000 residents every day. Returning to Zhangjia Village in Dongxiang County, Jiangxi Province, he takes over his father's small supermarket and opens Chengxin Life Supermarket, offering a base salary of 6,000 yuan and providing free testing equipment and exceptional customer service to crush the malicious competition of Wang Pangzi. He then invests three million yuan in building greenhouses and a breeding farm, repairs roads, establishes Chengxin Construction, and recruits technical experts from an agricultural university. Leading the villagers in growing vegetables and raising pigs, he expands his business empire and inspires young people working away from home to return to their hometown.
