Special forces soldier Lu Changfeng time-travels to Yanmen Village in the Great Qian dynasty, awakening the kill-and-grow stronger system. His elder brother Lu Changlong dies in battle, and their uncle's family covets the relief farmland, forcing his widowed sister-in-law Lin Ruoqing to remarry. After entering the mountains to cultivate, Lu Changfeng joins the army, rises exceptionally to corporal through super-strong martial power, and returns home to overawe the clan. His cousin colludes with Centurion Qian Baihu and mountain bandit Heilang to plot against him, all wiped out by Lu Changfeng. While joining the army against the barbarians, he exposes deputy general Wei Wuji for colluding with the enemy and causing his brother's death, and captures Qian Baihu while escorting grain and fodder to obtain criminal evidence. Holding an order, he executes Wei Wuji, heavily defeats the barbarian commander Tuoba at Luoying Gorge, and breaks through to become a match for ten thousand men.
