Hua Shu, born of a merchant family, marries into the Pacifying West Marquis's Mansion, only to see through the cold and thin human relationships within the mansion. Her husband Lu Ming is chauvinistic, and in times of crisis even forces her to sacrifice her life to preserve the family's reputation.
